HVAC PROJECT DESIGN ENGINEER

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility for this position is to support our existing customers and secondary to our sales department for acquiring new commercial, industrial and institutional projects and accounts. HVAC design engineers will work under instructions from design head for new or replacement heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems specific to customer needs and building specifications. Design Engineers will focus on solving problems related to air quality issues, environmental issues, or energy efficiency. The HVAC design engineer will need to work on residential, commercial, healthcare, hospitality and industrial projects. The tasks would include completing HVAC-related drawings, heat load calculations, preparing project estimates, generating BOQ’s from drawings and overseeing the installation of projects to completion.

Required qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required, graduate certificates also considered
  • Soft skills: AutoCAD, Rivet, BIM, MS Projects, Heat Load tools – HAP or equivalent

HVAC PROJECT SALES MANAGER / ENGINEER

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility for this position is to support our existing customers and secondary to acquire new commercial, industrial and institutional projects and accounts by developing relationships with owners, facility manager and management companies. This is a consultative sales position. Project Sales Engineer / Manager sells installation projects for mechanical systems to technical teams and decision influencers. They develop sales leads, qualify prospects and make sales calls. They perform site surveys, estimate, prepare and propose consultative sales solutions to meet the customers’ needs. Project Sales Manager / Engineer will negotiate, estimate, bid, propose and close contracts at qualified margins. Project Sales Engineer ensures that projects have permit drawings and have been engineered to meet current codes, utilizing inhouse engineering support when needed. Project Sales Engineers / Managers perform complete and quality turnovers with project management after sales to support a successful job completion that meets scope definition and projected gross margins and customer expectations.

bullet Required qualifications
  • Degree in mechanical engineering, or a similar technical discipline or years in the HVAC, refrigeration, or controls experience can be a substitute, or PE.
  • Three (3) years experience in HVAC industry, preferred, with degree, or minimum eight (8 ) years in industry installing, project managing or designing project HVAC systems.
  • Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • bullet Required knowledge, skills, abilities
  • Prior success estimating, selling and marketing HVAC mechanical solution projects and conceptual solutions to end-users at medium and large size companies in a highly competitive market.
  • Experience performing heating and cooling load calculations
  • Experience making equipment and systems selections
  • Experience sizing ductwork, water(hydronic) and gas piping
  • Experience with take-offs from plan and spec projects.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills and experience
  • Proven ability to develop new business and aggressively close sales.
  • Ability to develop and work with outside engineering firms to find the most cost effective solution on design- build projects.
  • Ability to maintain with relationships with local general contractors / vendors.
  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, estimating, CRM database programs.
